THE WHITE REVOLUTION

The White Revolution, a drive under Community Service, is the mega flagship project of RCMMS. A project close to everyone’s hearts, the white revolution has been an initiative of our club for the past eight years.

On every Mahashivratri, Devotees gather in large numbers around Balrajeshwar Mandir: A famous temple in Mulund, to worship Lord Shiva by pouring Milk on the “Shivling”. We, under ‘the white revolution’ urge the devotees to not pour milk on the shivling, or only pour some milk and donate the rest to the people in dire need. The Milk thus collected undergoes various processes where it is then made fit for consumption. The beneficiaries of this project are families living on the streets, animals especially cats and dogs.

However, Due to Covid and it's restrictions we had to modify the working of The White Revolution and focused majorly on the Awareness Aspect.

We had well known celebrity artists such as Jaya Bhattacharya ma'am, Naitik Nagda Sir, Master Yagya Bhasin, Pranali Bhalerao Ma'am, Krunal Pandit Sir and Mayuresh Wadkar Sir give a noteworthy contribution as well.

Releasing facts related to the milk that goes unutilized and how one can benefit from that milk along with releasing a short awareness video of the efforts undertaken by RCMMS through the years via social media was done as well, circulating it in societies and myriad public groups.

NAAZ

NAAZ, an initiative under Community service, is undertaken to support the LGBTQ+ Community and to become good allies.

Under NAAZ, we gather to experience the journey of the LGBTQ+ Community narrated by none other than them. The first edition of NAAZ: “this time they talk we listen” was held at the auditorium of Kelkar College. Change starts at home and so we started at our own home. Family members of the Rotaract members of RCMMS were addressed during the first edition where awareness was raised, speaker sessions were held by the Members of the LGBTQ+ Community, and band performances & open mics, dance performances and stand-up comedy took place.

However, Due to the onset of the pandemic, the second & the third editions of NAAZ had to be conducted online. Under the second & the third editions, a myriad of activities like poster making, face painting, quizzes, pride parades, coming out stories, poetry & live sessions were organized to lend our support to the community. Our initiative is also backed by various celebrities like

YOUR STAGE

“Your stage”, an editorial initiative, is undertaken with the purpose of providing a platform to showcase the talent. From rappers and singers to poets & dancers, if you’ve got a talent, the stage is all yours! To give people a stage to perform, to help them get better at their craft while also helping them gain confidence to perform in front of a huge audience are some of the reasons for organizing your stage.

Generally, your stage is conducted at cafes wherein audience & participants gather in huge numbers. From band to food to crazy fun, your stage has It all. This year, your stage was an online event but despite there we saw participation of people from various backgrounds- storytellers & poets, singers and also stand-up comedians.
