What are affirmations? Affirmation is a statement or a sign that something is true. Positive Affirmations are based on a psychological theory given by Steele in 1988, the Self-Affirmation Theory. There are also many empirical studies that confirm that we can maintain our sense of self-integrity by telling ourselves (or affirming) the positive ways in which we believe.
